On May 8, 2008, Sonco Gaming New Brunswick Limited Partnership was selected as the Successful Proponent for the New Brunswick Destination Casino Project.
The Casino New Brunswick Project will be helmed by Halifax-based Sonco Gaming Inc. Sonco was developer and project manager of two similarly-sized Canadian casino projects in Ontario (Great Blue Heron Charity Casino), where it is a partner in the operating company, and in Alberta (Grey Eagle Casino and Bingo), where it is also the operator. In addition, Sonco and its principals have over 14 years of involvement in the Canadian gaming industry and over 40 years of real estate development, management and investment experience across North America. One of Sonco’s core strength’s is its ability to convene and lead diverse, multi-faceted project teams to ensure that projects undertaken are completed on time and on budget and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
The signing of the Casino Service Provider Agreement with the New Brunswick Lottery and Gaming Corporation is an opportunity for Sonco, Clairvest and Navegante to collaborate again, along with Riseley Gaming Inc., to develop, construct, finance, and operate a first-class gaming and entertainment complex, the first of its kind in New Brunswick.
Located at 2570 Mountain Road in Moncton, NB, Casino New Brunswick is the province’s premiere and most spectacular entertainment resort, featuring a Casino, the Palladium (a multi-purpose entertainment/convention centre), as well as a full service Resort Hotel & Spa, all of which are interconnected by pedways. Construction is advancing nicely, and the facility is expected to open in the Spring of 2010.
